YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy castigated the administration helmed by Chandrababu Naidu for orchestrating the obliteration of the opposition party’s central edifice in Tadepalli, Guntur district, flagrantly disregarding judicial mandates.
Reddy revealed that the demolition was executed in the early hours of Saturday, despite an explicit injunction from the High Court to cease all such operations immediately.
The demolition operation was initiated around 5:30 am, following a legal contestation by the YSRCP against the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA)’s initial measures, as per a communiqué from the party.
“Chandrababu escalated his vendetta politics beyond bounds. In a manner reminiscent of an autocrat, he commanded the destruction of the nearly completed YSRCP central office using excavators and bulldozers,” Reddy declared in a post on ‘X’.
The statement elaborated that the demolition advanced despite the YSRCP’s appeal to the High Court the preceding day, challenging the CRDA’s preliminary actions.
The YSRCP contended that the CRDA pressed forward with the demolition, notwithstanding being apprised of the judicial order by a party attorney, an action they deem as contempt of court.
Reddy lambasted the NDA government, consisting of the TDP, BJP, and Janasena, accusing it of subverting justice and the rule of law in Andhra Pradesh. He forecasted a turbulent governance under Naidu’s reign for the ensuing five years based on this incident.
The YSRCP leader asserted that the opposition party would remain undeterred by such vindictive politics. He vowed that the party would persist in its advocacy for the populace.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA coalition garnered a total of 21 seats. The TDP secured 16 seats, while its allies, the BJP and JSP, won eight and two seats, respectively.
The simultaneously held state Assembly elections culminated in the TDP achieving a majority with 136 seats. The JSP and BJP captured 21 and eight seats, respectively. Conversely, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy, secured merely 11 seats, a precipitous decline from the 151 seats it held in 2019.
