In the realm of social networking, a spirited visual narrative shared by the BJP Karnataka’s profile on the digital platform ‘X’, aimed towards the Muslim populace, underwent deletion subsequent to a directive from the Election Commission. On Tuesday, the Election Commission mandated the removal of said visual from the microblogging domain. Via a missive directed to the designated liaison of ‘X’, the EC conveyed its dissatisfaction regarding the platform’s non-compliance with the mandate articulated by the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer to expunge the visual.

Authorities from the EC disclosed on Wednesday that, consequent to the latest directive dispatched to ‘X’, the contentious visual has been eradicated. The Karnataka Congress brought forth an accusation to the Chief Electoral Officer of the region, contending that the BJP was fostering antagonism and discord amidst the Muslim and SC/ST communities. The accusation pertained to an animated visual disseminated by the Karnataka BJP, spotlighting caricatures of Congress luminary Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Within the visual, the luminaries are portrayed positioning an ovum labeled ‘Muslim’ within an avian domicile. Upon hatching, Gandhi is depicted as imparting ‘funds’ to the ‘Muslim’ fledgling while others vie for it. Consequently, the ‘Muslim’ fledgling proliferates and supersedes the trio of other fledglings symbolizing SC, ST, and OBC demographics, whilst Gandhi and Siddaramaiah derive amusement.
