Day after being released from jail, Delhi CM Kejriwal offers prayers at Delhi’s Hanuman temple

In the heart of central Delhi’s Connaught Place, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, beseeched blessings at the Hanuman sanctuary, joined by his consort Sunita and the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann. Accompanying them were AAP luminaries, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Minister of Health in Delhi, and Atishi, the Minister of Education.

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), emerged from Tihar prison, where he had been detained regarding the Delhi excise policy matter. Shortly after securing temporary release from the Supreme Court, he made his exit.

Following his release, in an address to the assembled multitude, he declared his intention to pay homage to Lord Hanuman on the ensuing Saturday, seeking divine favor. Furthermore, he implored the populace for their backing in his crusade against authoritarianism.

Scheduled for the day, Kejriwal is set to host a press briefing at the AAP headquarters at 1 pm, followed by two processions in the southern and eastern electoral districts of Delhi, alongside Bhagwant Mann. This marks Kejriwal’s inaugural procession since departing Tihar Jail.

Upon reaching his abode in the Civil Lines precinct at approximately 8:20 pm, the Chief Minister disclosed plans for the southern Delhi procession to the gathered journalists, standing tall from the sunroof of his vehicle.

For the southern Delhi constituency, AAP has nominated Sahi Ram Pahalwan as its candidate. Adhering to a seating agreement between the Congress and AAP, the former has nominated contenders for three parliamentary seats in Delhi, while the latter vies for the remaining four.
